John Jump Obituary

Homer resident, Mr. John "Jack" Dallas Jump, 65, died Monday, July 1, 2013 at his home in Homer.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013 at the Homer Elks Lodge, 215 W. Jenny Way in Homer. A family and friend memorial service will be held at a later date in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

Mr. Jump was born September 4, 1947 in Klamath Falls, Oregon. He graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1965. Soon after graduating he joined the U.S. Army where he served in Vietnam. In 1992 he moved to Homer where he has lived for the past 21 years. He retired from the Chip Ship Supervisor on the Homer Spit. He attended the Homer Independent Baptist Church and was a long time member of the Homer Elks Lodge. He along with his wife Charlene enjoyed art.

The family wrote, "John was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, friend and family man."

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Nora Jump; father in-law, Wade Pitcher; sister, Wilda Dixon; grandchildren, Andrew, Brea, Christopher, and nephew, Ryan Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene Ann Jump of Homer; daughter, Katheryn Walton and husband, Michael of Klamath Falls, OR, Laurie Bray and husband, Mike of Klamath Falls, OR, and Teresa Jump of Klamath Falls, OR; son, Bill Jump and wife, Angela of Arlington, TX; brother, Joe Smith and wife, Carol of Sun Valley, NV; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchild; closest friends Jan and Joan Jonker and Wayne and Toni Barrowcliff all of Homer and many other family and friends.

Memorial donations can be made to either the Hospice of Homer or the Homer Elks Lodge in Homer.

Arrangements made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel and Crematory.
