Joseph Weaver Obituary
A service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 616 West Tenth Avenue in Anchorage, Alaska.
Joey attended Grace Christian School and graduated from Service High School. He attended college at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Ore.
Joey worked with property management at Valley Residential Services for the past seven years. Previously, he held positions at First National Bank Alaska, MLS, and Marita Sea and Ski.
Joey enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, snowmachining, filmmaking and his family and friends.
Joey was also a Big Brother for Big Brothers Big Sisters for many years.
Joey's family wrote: "Joey was remarkable in many ways. He was kind, loving, funny and intelligent. His sense of humor was filled with wit and you would laugh until you hurt. He cared deeply for his family and friends and went the extra distance for each one of us, because we were so special to him."
Joey is survived by his parents, John D. and Cathy Weaver of Anchorage; brother, John M. Weaver of Kodiak, Alaska; two sisters, Tess Weaver and Cara Hoggard; brother-in-law, Greg Hoggard; nephews, Jack Hoggard and Max Hoggard; and nieces, Leia Hoggard and Sadie Hoggard, all of Anchorage; grandfather and stepgrandmother, Jack and Karin Weaver of Seattle, Wash.; along with many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family asks that donations may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska.
