Kevin Burney Obituary

Anchorage resident Kevin Lamont Burney died Feb. 8, 2010, at Providence Alaska Medical Center at the age of 43.

A viewing will be from 10:45-11:45 a.m. Tuesday, with a service at noon, at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.

Kevin attended Service High School.

He returned to Anchorage in September 2009. Within a matter of days he was employed by Red Robin.

McKnight of Anchorage; stepsisters, Diane Belczyk and Sonya Davis, both of Anchorage, Anietra Sherrill of Atlanta, Ga., Ronna G. Simien and Aileen Cannon-Green; and stepbrothers, Charles Sherrill Jr. of Charlotte, N.C., and Ron David Martin of Las Vegas; his maternal grandmother, Ethel M. Adams; and paternal grandmother, Mildred Lindsey, both of Colorado Springs; his godfather, Robert Kelly; and a host of aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Michaela Matter, mother of his daughter Danika; and former wife Tanya Burney of Colorado Springs.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Fred Adams and Ernest Lindsey; and godmother, Rita Kelly.

Well I don't know were to start ...
Some of my best memories
I remember when we went to jack-a-lope you would always push me and Jadin on the marry-go-round and Jadin would fall alseep every time.
I remember that you and mom always gave me money to get corn from the icecream truck and I would always come back with paprika on the corn then I would go wash the paprika off.I hated the paprika.
I remember all of the fun we had at the Childrens Museum.
I remeber you would start dinner and always have mom finish it and I would always wear your sun glasses you didn't care even if they broke. Though we cant make more memories together I will awlways know that you will be watching over us to make sure we will be okay.
When I was scared of the thunder mom would tell us not to be scared that was just you yelling I love you from far away, so Jadin and I would yell I love you back. I will still yell I love you dad when ever I hear thunder.
You will forever be in my heart and in my thoughts, I love you dad from now until forever.
forever love
Taliah burney
P.S.
you will always and forever be my gardian angel

We had hard times, good times, and wonderful times. So many things I wish I would have done differantly. Everything we went through together good and bad.. has made me a stronger person. You taught me so much and we have made lots of fond memories to share with the kids. I know you will be sharing all the special moments yet to come with them looking from above. Jadin has your big smile, Jazzi has you strong will, and Taliah has your confidance. I know they will make you proud.
Though we seperated I have always and will always love you.
May you find the peace you desirve and now you can rest free of the struggles and pain and no more trips to the hospital. Now you can see all your kids and grandkids grow with your love and protection from above.
You will always be in my heart.
I love you Kevin!

Just when everything was going good for him. he survived alot of trials through his life but he could not survive asthma. I am angry with myself for not seeing him while he was in Vegas nor coming to see him while he was in Anchorage. I am very proud of his accomplishments and only wish that i could have told him that personally..........you will be missed...................love always..........your lil bro.........Rob
