Kevin Goss Obituary

GOSS, Kevin. Kevin Goss passed away living his dream of extreme sports in a motocross incident in south Florida on March 10, 2013. He is survived by his wife Sendi Hawk Goss, his son Kody Goss and daughter Shay Goss. His parents Russell and Patricia Goss, sister Sheree McDonald, brothers Terry , Scott and Corey Goss and his nephews and nieces Heather Gookin, Ryan Goss, Brittney, Sean, Chad McDonald and Jade Goss. Kevin attended Arizona State University and worked as a contractor for Goss Construction and J&G Construction over the past 25 years. He had a passion for extreme sports and living life to its fullest utilizing every moment, of every day, to its fullest with a positive attitude in life. Kevin began as a child, a little boy. A coach's son----stubborn as a mule - who with years of guidance, love and nurturing, became the man. A man with burning passion for life and living. Enjoying all that it offered. Living by the mantra "you can sleep when you're dead." A man that his parents proudly called "son." A man who lit the eye and sparked a fire in a woman who could not help but love him. She had to have him, forever. He had to have her, forever. They brought forth two beautiful children Kody and Shay. The man became the dad. Strength to do right. morals to light the path. love to warm the home. And from this man, this fine human being, came a family. A family with children. Children who say "yes sir" and "no mam" Children built with strong moral compasses. Children who share his same passion for enjoying all that life has to offer. Children with love for all people. In short, children who reflect all that is..their father. Never has the transformation from child to man..to dad been done so well. Kevin is the best illustration of what a son, a man, a husband and a dad should be. He will never be gone. Why? Because all that is him is still here. It's reflected in all those he has touched. It's in his family that knew him as a child. It's in his friends that knew him as a man. But if you have doubt - look no farther than his children. He taught us this, "It's good to dream what you want to dobut doing what you dream is what it's all about." GO ON # 2 YOU JUST KEEP BEASTIN' IT. We all know. You really are the GOAT. Greatest Of All Time. A visitation will be held Friday March 15, 2013 from 7pm to 9pm at Van Orsdel Kendall Chapel. Funeral Service on Saturday, March 16, at 1 PM at Van Orsdel Funeral Chapel, followed by a funeral procession to Woodlawn Park South. On Sunday, March 17 at 10 AM, the Miami Motocross Track will host a Memorial Ride in Kevin's honor. Miami MX Park: 16665 Krome Avenue (a.k.a. N.W. 177 Avenue) Hialeah, Florida 33018 for directions, please look at miamimxpark.com. In lieu of flowers, you may send donations to Kevin's children, payable to Sandi Goss. Please mail to Harvey D. I met Kevin working on a custom remodel kitchen in Hollywood, FL.

We quickly became friends and found out through the course of the project we had a mutual friend, a motor-cross pal.

Kevin's charismatic presence was accompanied with a humor to match. I will always remember him painting 'Go Heat' on my van's rear window.

Kevin freely shared his knowledge with me and at the same time listened to new ideas.

I associated with him for a month but he is impressed upon me forever.

His family, friends and world has been forever changed through his life.

God Bless.

First time I saw Kevin , he in a crib while his parments looked for an aparment in L.I. I was just out of the army and looking for a job. Kevin grew up to be quite a fine young man. Always in sports and exceling. He was tops as far as I was concerned. Very polite and more. Didnt get to see him much , but seeing the messages of him were heart felt.

To my long-time dear friend, Sendi, and family: I am rarely at a loss for words, but having just seen a few items on Facebook moments ago, I do not know what to write. I know nothing of what happened to this young, vibrant man but I keep thinking of the time Sendi introduced him to me and I received an instant wide grin:) Pray each of you can find your smiles again in the future........Rho

I did not know Kevin. I pulled into Mesa Park that Sunday with my 7yr old grandson. The first person I noticed was Kevin and his son. I said to myself I hope me and my grandson can keep riding together into his teenage years and I can stay in the kind of shape Kevin was in being 49 myself. Kevin came up to me and my grandson and told him what a goodlooking kid he was and for us to have a good time. Less than a few minutes later unfortunately Kevin had passed. Please tell your loved ones how much they mean to you and live everyday to its fullest which is the way it sounds like Mr. Goss did. Bless his family and loved ones.

To the Goss Family:
Having just learned of the passing of Kevin I can only pray that you will find the strength of who Kevin was and his friendly nature to continue in his memory. We borrowed tools, parts and swapped stories at the race track. He was an inspiration to my boys as well as me. Sharing his zest for life in all that he did, including buying the new van. May you find peace in your heart from the lives he touched. RIP

I have worked with Kevin for over twenty years, on many projects. Kevin always made himself available when he was needed most. Kevin was always the first one to arrive and the last to leave. He was always happy to be doing whatever was required to do the best job possible. He was always kind and courteous to everyone he met, except possibly sub-contractors who couldn't perform to his standards, even if they weren't working for him. He always completed every job, not only correctly but beautifully. He had high standards for himself and held everyone else to those standards. He always did what he said that he was going to do. He was a consummate professional.
Kevin always spoke warmly about his family and was always concerned about our family. He would talk about his family here in Miami but also about his affection and concerns about his extended family in Georgia and New Hampshire. We were always comparing notes on our son's accomplishments. He would talk forever about Kodys BMX exploits. It was great when both of our sons were playing Lacrosse, we could trade notes. We were talking just before he left for the Daytona trip and he was telling me how much he looked forward to riding that weekend with Kody.
Every day was a beautiful day to Kevin. He will be sorely missed. He is irreplaceable. I considered Kevin a friend and more, he was my left hand.

Dear Sendi, Kody and Shay,
Words really cannot describe our feelings. There is not a corner of our home that has not been touched by Kevin's craftsmanship! As an interior designer kevin and i use to say we should start a show together on HGTV! :)He has been a good friend for more than 25-27 years!! He always had an ear for a story and LOTS of advice. He has had a key to every home we owned. He counceled me thru teen years with my son...and loved my kids. Never did he arrive here and not ask how is my mom. Family came first, he bragged with pride about his family. We just keep repeating outload "Kevin is gone" ?? Is it real? Such a strong individual physically and in his convictions about life....WOW what a hole in our hearts! He will be missed but not gone from our memories. With all our love Stephanie, Stan, Trisha, Brian, Oliver and Todd

Sendi & Family,
I am deeply sorry for your loss of husband & father, Kevin. The words written about him were truly uplifting and inspiring. I did not ever meet Kevin personally, but I was able to witness his devotion to Sendi at our 40th high school reunion this past Sept. That night, I took a mental note as I watched Kevin beaming while Sendi reunited with her friends who knew her "back when". He really basked in her pleasure, and I could tell just from witnessing him in those moments that he was a good man who enjoyed life and he loved his wife. God Bless.

Kevin most certainly had a presence on this earth. My childhood is dotted with fond memories of summer afternoons boating in the keys with both he and Sendi.
Always kind and encouraging, he was full of spirit and laughter. Thank you Sendi for having brought such a great man into our lives.

Few words can describe what an amazing man he was. He never was to busy to stop what he was doing to talk with me and share his vast insight on life. Causing me to reflect internally and see things in a different perspective. Everyone has advice, but few have the honesty and virtue to enforce there own words. Kevin's words will always echo in my spirit, heart and mind. Goodbye good friend.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kevin at my 40th reunion. He was such a wonderful person. This world has lost a good man from what I saw. Rest in peace Kevin. Heaven has gained one good man.

My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Kevin as a result of his fine work for Michael Steffens and Majorie Goldman. As a result of his fine work, we hired him as well. Kevin always had a smile on his face and overwhelming energy. He was a perfectionist at his craft. He had an enthusiasm for life that we admired and yearned to emulate. While we have not met his family, we feel as if we know them because whenever we had occasion to run into Kevin, seldom would he miss the opportunity to talk to us about the family that he so loved. He always spoke of Sendi, Kody and Shay with love and pride. I cannot believe he is gone. The words written about Kevin are entirely consistent with the man we knew and admired. Our hearts go out to Kevin's family. Kevin, indeed, lived life to the fullest. May he rest in peace.

Sendi, Kody, & Shay - There are no words to express how sorry we are for your loss. We feel truly blessed to have been a part of your lives for so many years. Kody and Cody were 3 years old when they became friends. Look at them now - grown men. All the years of bmx racing (even traveling to Ohio) and then all the funs times at Seminole. Kevin was always so happy to ride and watch Kody on the various tracks. He had such a glow around him. Kevin has always been an extremely positive roll model for our Cody. Just like a second dad. We will miss him terribly Sendi. Please know that we are always here for you and the kids. You are in our thoughts and prayers. We love you my friend. John, Cody, Alexis, & Traci

March 14, 2013

We had the pleasure to meet Kevin & his family at L Cross a year or so ago. We had taken our son, Keith, and his friend for their first track ride on their new dirt bikes. Kevin, Sendi and Shay were there and Kevin reached out to our son and gave him tips on riding. We spent the day with his family and later my son had the opportunity to meet his son and ride with him. He and his family were gracious and endearing and they touched a part of our souls that is reserved for the people you call "friends".
His obituary is moving and well articulated. Though you may not know how you touched us that day, your graciousness and kindness has stayed with us.
Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
