Michael D. Hickman

1947 - 2016

Michael Dennis Hickman, 68, was born on Oct. 23, 1947, in St. Louis, Mo., to Wayne and Jane (Finley) Hickman. He passed away on Jan. 27, 2016, at Bethany Home in Lindsborg, Kan. After high school, Mike enlisted in the United States Air Force. Much of his career was spent in law enforcement and physical security, even after his discharge. He retired to Moundridge, Kan., following his marriage to Roberta (Storer) Beyer. Mike is survived by his wife, Roberta of Moundridge; sons, Andrew (Jennifer) Hickman and Kenneth (Lori) Hickman, all of Anchorage, Alaska; sister, Julie Hickman of Orlando, Fla.; seven stepchildren; 10 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Michelle Kendall aand Nancy Timmons. Cremation has occurred. His ashes will be scattered in Alaska. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at 10:15 a.m., in the chapel of Bethany Home in Lindsborg, with fellowship time following the service. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be given to Bethany Home or the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Charitable Trust Service, in care of the Moundridge Funeral Home, P.O.
