Michael Johns Obituary
67, of Phoenix passed away on January 13, 2017. Michael served as United States Attorney for the District of Arizona from 1997-1998 and spent his entire professional career in the United States Attorney's Office. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Susan; and their children, Kevin, Emily Jagodzinski (Gregg) and Ryan; two grandchildren, Aiden and Allie Jagodzinski; his brothers, Richard, Tom, Steve; and his sister, Shannon Branstetter. Mike was greeted in heaven by his parents, Richard Johns, MD and Ruth Johns. A funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 330 W. Coral Gables Dr, Phoenix, AZ 85023 with a Celebration of Life service at noon in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Hospice of the Valley at hov.org, (602)530-6992 or the Wildland Firefighter Foundation, 2049 Airport Way Boise, ID 83705, wffoundation.org.

I had the pleasure and privilege of working with Mike at the U.S. Attorney's Office. Mike was a superb attorney and a calm and humorous colleague. I am sad to learn of his passing so late, but I send my condolences to his family long-distance. He was greeted in heaven by Jim Loss, too.

Dear Susie and family, Just heard this afternoon about your Mike, unfortunately too late to have been there today to extend my condolences. Susie, there are no words, my heart is broken for you. You hold tight to your faith and hold tight to your love for Mike, as that will never leave you. Keep your children and those darling Grandbabies close, they will give you strength. You are all in my prayers!! My deepest sympathy to you.

I hardly knew Mike directly at all. But I knew the kind of man he was by how Steve and others spoke of him. And by the love that was so evident in every tree, rock, and board at Bray Creek. I could tell he was a good man, a kind and strong man by the funny, loving stories his friends told. His legacy will live on in their memories. I look forward to hearing more wonderful, funny, and sweet stories about the man Mike was.
I wish I had known Mike better. I suspect I would have very much treasured his friendship.
My thoughts are with Mike and with his family and friends.

Very Sorry to learn of Mikes passing. What good times we enjoyed with him and hie wife Susie and family. Amass for Mie will be said on Feb 22 at my request. It will be at St Pauls. Wish I could be there.

I always loved Mike Johns, I am sorry I never met you Susan, and children. He was a special man and I come from years ago, when he was with Lynn. I lost my husband 10 month ago and feel your pain. For Mike to die so young, as my husband was 69 is tragic. You will all be in my prayers and thoughts.
