Sandra Spencer

Sandra Lynn Spencer (Johnson) died suddenly with her daughter Susan on Monday, January 28, 2013. They were inseparable in life and will remain so in heaven. Sandra "Sandy" was born August 13, 1956 to Coral L. Johnson (Medendorp) and Edwin L. "Bud" Johnson in Lakeview, MI. She attended Mesick High School and graduated from Baker College with a degree in business. She married Richard, the love of her life, on November 17, 1973 in Lake Station, MI. Together they had 4 children. She enjoyed camping, traveling, quilting, sewing, riding her motorcycle and spending time with her family in any way she could find. She was proud to have quilted a blanket for each of her eleven grand children. Grand daughters Alyssa, Morgan and Alaina and grandsons Kole, Jacob, Andrew, Cody, Even, Derek, Noah, and Lucas. She adored them all beyond measure and usually had at least one of them with her. Sandy worked for Mesick Schools for a number of years, and has spent the years since then doing what she loved best, devoting her time to her grandkids, husband and family. She is survived by her husband Richard Spencer of Mesick, her mother Coral Johnson of Weidman, MI; sons Dustin (Becky) Spencer of Pinconning, Eric (Kathy) Spencer of Mesick, Curtis Spencer of Mesick, her siblings Robert Johnson, Mike Johnson, Connie Simmons, Kim Johnson, Greg Johnson all of Weidman, MI, brother/sister-in-law Daniel (Billie) Spencer of Schoolcraft, Tracy (Dorothy) Spencer of Plainwell, Nancy (Jeffery) Fagerman of Summerville, AL, and Sandra Star Spencer of Jennings. She is survived by her grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Edwin Johnson (Weidman, MI), father-in-law and mother-in-law Lloyd and Verta Spencer, two infant brothers Steven Johnson and Darrel Johnson (Lakeview, MI), her grandparents Eva Johnson-Marshall, Thomas "Ed" Marshall, Lewis Johnson, Fred Medendorp, Pansy Medendorp (Nicholes), a nephew Shaun Trowbridge (Manton, MI) and a niece Cathy Spencer (Schoolcraft, MI). She entered heaven hand in hand with her beloved daughter Susan Alyssa Spencer of Mesick. Memorial service will be 11am - 2pm on Saturday February 2nd, 2013 at Hall Holdship Funeral Home in Manton. Luncheon will follow immediately after at the Sherman Gospel Hall. An account has been set up at FifthThird Bank for memorial contributions to help cover the costs and expenses.
