Sean Mulgrew Obituary
Services were held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Green Hills Chapel where Sean was laid to rest at the Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
Sean was born October 26, 1976 to Michael and Tina Mulgrew in Torrance, CA. As a young boy he enjoyed singing, playing basketball, football and baseball. Sean attended Presentation College in South Dakota where he was a star basketball player and in 2003 received his BA degree in Social Work. He moved to Anchorage in 2012 and had worked at Sadler's Home Furnishings in Anchorage, Alaska.
"He was known to his family as a Gentle Giant' and to friends as Tree.' Standing at 6'9", most would be intimidated by his stature, but to those close to him, knew he was much bigger in heart and spirit. Sean's sensitive nature allowed him the ability to love his family and friends unconditionally. His comical demeanor, playfulness and charm made him a favorite amongst those young and old. Sean's glowing smile and contagious laugh touched the hearts of many. Coaching and mentoring young children, especially his nieces and nephews brought him great joy. Sadly on October 20, 2013 Sean's life was taken too soon. There are not enough words to express how special Sean was and how much he was loved. The sun shines less bright without him. Sean will be missed by many, but will never be forgotten and he will forever be in our hearts," wrote the family.
Sean is survived by an extensive family that loved him dearly.

So many things have changed in my life. I wish I could've confided in you so many times. I miss you so much. You didn't deserve this, you should still be with us so you can watch your daughter grow up. my gentle giant, with me standing at 4'10" next to you. til this day, i still cant believe you are gone. im still at loss for words expressing how im feeling. im still saddened by your loss. i wished i had said something to you a week b4 you left this earth. for the short period of time we've known each other, you showed me how much a true friend you are. from the first day we met, your always calling to see if i was alright when i had my bad days n always told me that everything will be ok. i wished we had more times or days like breakfast at denny's. goofing around, cracking jokes. laughing our butts off, jus hanging out.. im really going to miss your laughs n smile n your thing about country music, i can never put you n that together on the same page. n its not the new country but the oldies lol..
im sorry for giving you a scarce n running around town lost looking for me that one eventful day this past summer. you were one of a few that came to my rescue. n friendship like yours dont come around very often. and for that, i am blessed and grateful to have you in my life when you were here. you will always be missed but never forgotten. your laughs n smile n memories will always remain in our hearts. may you watch us from above and guide us like you never have left n i'll look up to you like i always have.. we love you uce, may you rest in peace.

To Sean's family:
I can't even begin to put into words how sorry I am for your loss. I have the opportunity and privilege to attend college with Sean at PC. We graduated the same day.
Sean was such a great person and his heart was as big as he was tall. We shared alot of great times, laughs and memories at PC. I hold them memories closer. I think of you and your family often and pray for all of your during this time of loss.

Oh Sean, when you left my house on the 19th I never imagined it would be the last time I would ever see you. Every day since your passing there has been something that reminds us of you and we laugh. This is how you will live on....in our hearts, in our memories--daily. You were such a joy with a heart so big and such a wise way about you. But you sure hated losing! I would laugh at you getting so frustrated. I miss you everyday; I love you little brother, we all do. Till we meet again.

I knew Sean from college at Presentation and he always had a smile on his face and was laughing about something. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this awful time. Rest in Piece Sean!!! God bless you all!!

My sincerest condolences. I've known Sean for about 20 years now. He was like a big kid, very fun and humble. I'm gonna miss how he was just always to stoked!! First person to say 'hi' to everybody, and very good-humored. He could put a smile on everybody's face :) One person I could talk to about anything and everything. I miss that big thundering voice and smile! Till we meet again Sean.. Your brotha from anotha motha ;)

I thank God for you Sean, when we was in college. We was good roommates because we looked after each other. When I didn't have it you did and vice versa. God was in your life when you was living because everyone around you was taking care if and you loved them dearly. Enjoy heaven big Guy because God makes no mistakes. Love you big brother.

One couldn't know Sean without being touched for life. His upbeat spirit and smile was both endearing and frustrating (when I wanted him to take things seriously!). At 5'2", suffice it to say he towered over me, but he still knew who was boss! (-:
I was so proud to see him graduate, but sad to have him leave the area. SO very much potential!!!
He will continue to be missed forever. My sincere condolences to his family. I hope, in time, you are able to find peace.
