Shawn Hamby Obituary
Shawn was born in Georgetown, Texas on September 9, 1982. He actively served in the Coast Guard as a Seaman on the Coast Guard Cutter Obion in Kentucky and as a Coxswain in charge of the Search and Rescue Boats in Florida from January 27 of 2003 to February 24 of 2011. Shawn loved two things, his son and baseball and he enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be missed for all his stories, his laughter and his desire to become a Drug Counselor to help others with addiction.
Shawn was preceded in death by his parents, Joyce Ann Withrow and Charles Don Hamby. He is survived by his son Austin Tyler James Hamby of Florida, his brothers Bryan Hamby and son Caleb of Texas, Charles Hamby of Colorado, his sisters Christina Hamby, Tanya Roberts and Libby Cunningham and son "Fritz" and daughters Sherry, Samantha, and Amanda all from Texas, and many aunts, uncles and cousins that loved him dearly.
We will have a Celebration of Life for him on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 2pm cst to be held at the American Legion Post 447 located at 1000 North Georgetown Street in Round Rock, Texas 78664

My heart was broken when I was told of Shawn passing.. I remembered going and watching him at track and field days at Del Valle school when they lived with there dad . He would call me late at night just to talk . The good die young and Shawn you were to young to have gone ! Now be the guardian angel over you son . Rip my cuz ... Missed by so many ....

ShaNayNay, I just can't believe you're gone. We've loved seeing you grow up over all the years we were "YaYa Sisters" with your mama. I remember how proud you were about joining the Coast Guard and serving your country. I've always been impressed by how much you love and care about your son.
You were working so hard for things to be better. I think you would have had a great impact as a counselor. The only comfort is knowing you're with your mom.
Love you always, Shawn... glad we had such a good talk at your mom's Celebration of Life and that I got to hug you and tell you we loved you one more time.

I will so deeply Miss My Little Brother.. He was a Good Man with a Very Good Heart.. Even though We didn't see each other very often We spoke quite a bit over the phone.. I will miss talking to Him and The sound of His Voice.. You will be close in My Heart Brother.. Love and Peace Until We meet again..
