Truth Gray Obituary

Anchorage resident Truth "Trudy" Coven Gray, 93, died May 5, 2009, at Providence Extended Care Center. Truth was born March 16, 1916, in Los Angeles to Gustave Coven and Lina Simpkin. She married Benjamin Harrison Gray in Los Angeles on Jan. 4, 1948, and they moved to Alaska in the 1950s, while Benjamin was serving in the U.S. Air Force. Truth raised four children including two who were adopted from Korea through Holt International. Throughout Benjamin's career in the Air Force, they moved around the United States and Germany before settling in Washington state. After the death of her husband, Trudy moved to Alaska in 2004 to be near her son and daughter-in-law. Truth was a member of the Christian Science Church and continued to study her Bible lessons until shortly before her death. Her family wrote, "Truth was a strong minded, intelligent, and caring woman; she will be greatly missed." Truth is survived by her daughters, Anne Lockhart and Linnie Gray; son and daughter-in-law, Kelsey S. and Kimberley Gray; and grandchildren, Lisa and Chris Daniels; and great-grandchildren, Jordan and Jermaine; grandchildren, Jonathan Dance and James Dance, Miriam and Shawn Leavy, Truwyn and Roy Diaz; and great-grandchildren, Grayson and Alistar; grandchildren, Fia Lockhart, Anastazia Songeagle, Kris Gray, Kelsey T. Gray and Kirstie Gray; grandson, Orpheo and Kim Gray; great-grandchildren, Shaun, Symone, and Sebastian Gray; grandson, Benjamin and Libby Gray and family; and grandson, Lamon Wyatt-Gray; and great granddaughter, Kalani Wyatt. Truth was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Harrison II; and son Benjamin Harrison III.
