Tyler Lizer Obituary

Tyler Lizer, 26, of Dallas, Ore., died on Aug. 3, 2007.
He was born July 1, 1981, in Eagle River to Donnalee Lizer and Gerald Lizer, and moved with his mother and siblings to Dallas in the early 1990s.
He graduated from Dallas High School in 2001, then moved back to Alaska, splitting most of his time between the Mat-Su valleys and the Anchorage area, though he returned often for brief periods to live in Dallas.
Ty enjoyed spending time with his family and friends camping, playing pool, bicycling, swimming and singing karaoke. He loved dogs and small children, the outdoors and nature, and enjoyed working with his brothers and building cabins in Alaska.
Ty was a rebel and a big fan of rebels. He idolized Bob Dylan and James Dean and liked the retro styles of the 1950s and '60s. He was a free spirit who would move from place to place, coming and going with the seasons, and was loved by all who knew him.
His family said, "He had a real zest for life. He lived complete in every way and is in our hearts forever. We will miss him until we meet again. We love Ty very much."
He is survived by his mother, Donnalee Lizer of Talkeetna; his father, Gerald Lizer of Wasilla; his siblings, Eric Lizer with wife and son Becka and Cooper, Brian Lizer with wife and son Cedar and Dalton, and Travis Lizer, all of Anchorage, and Jody Lizer and Crystal Lizer of Talkeetna; and his girlfriend Helena Bifelt of Huslia.
Tyler was cremated and will be returned to Alaska to be interred at September Lake by the cabin he helped build in 2006.

Tyler was a great and loving companion, we did not have a lot of time together but the time that we did share was lovely. My heart aches for him. I will see him when I get to heaven.

Tyler was an associate at the Home Depot for quite some time, about 2 years. I happened to be one of his supervisors while he worked there. He was a cool guy, really. He was quiet and once in awhile he would get a haircut, he hated that! I always noticed (being a typical supervisor) and when I commented on his hair he would just do a, "Yeah, well...." as he ran his fingers through his hair. I always found it hilarious! Tyler was a great kid, he liked to have fun and worked hard when he was at the Depot. My thoughts are with him and my condolences to the family. He was a good kid.

Tyler, You were such a great friend and so much fun to be around. I'm not sure what happened, but I sure can't believe what I just heard. You were loved and you will always be missed. Know that I've thought about you often throughout the years and I've always wondered where you were and what you were up to. Thank you for being my friend.
