1959 - 2015

Anchorage, Alaska, resident Tyrone Harvey Milton, 56, died on Oct. 3, 2015. A visitation will be held Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E Street in Anchorage, on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015, at 10 a.m., with a service afterwards at 11 a.m. with Pastor Phillip Boswell officiating. Tyrone will be laid to rest at Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery at noon. A Potluck will be held after the services at Anchorage Native Assembly of God, 916 E 11th Ave., in Anchorage. Mr. Milton was born on April 24, 1959, in Yakutat, Alaska, to Frances Jackson and David Milton Sr. Lineage: Tlinget Eagle, Kaawaantaan Clan, Two Door House Over the Water Sitka, Alaska. He was employed in Alaska and Colorado, in many jobs and industries, including: commercial grounds keeper, prep cook, landscaping, sales presenter, dry cleaning, line cook, cashier, kitchen manager, alternate cook/custodian, caribou herder, cannery freezer room worker, bartender, weatherization and concession stand attendant. His extensive education included studying Demo Blasting at Colorado School of Mines, earning his GED from Mat-Su College, studying UAA Baking/Pastry with an internship under CMC Dieter Dopplefeld and Behavior Psychology/ Sociology. He received Media recognition for Chief Wasilla Costume, he won the rights to have Long hair in Public school, rights to have Native Food in Institution menu, front page Eagle Dancer, and showcased Anchorage Museum drawing of Chief Wasilla. Tyrone had many hobbies: bingo, beadwork, the computer word game Litrati, hiking and backpacking, painting, ink drawing and photography. Tyrong left behind daughter, Jacquelyn Milton with mother, Vera Workman; bothers, David Milton Jr. (Veronica), George Milton, Ciint Bernhardt and Donald Allan; sisters, Laura Sabatis (Paul) and Sabrina Rogers.; beading and bingo friend, Diane Riley; nephews and nieces, Francine Henry (Mike Potter), William Henry Jr. (Jessica Fasthorse), Alice Milton, David Milton Ill, Angelo Keys (Helena Rodriguez), Thomas Keys, Angiela Swarek, LaTisha Keys, Anthony Walker, Brandon Henry, Mikayla Henry, Madison Henry, Malaya Diaz, Kalila Milton, Leilani Jim, Melissa Milton, Kaleena Evenson, Carmela Keys, Jaida Keys and Miesha Keys. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Viva Ordway; nephew, Raymond Paden; and great-nieces, Jasmine Clewis and Mystic Clewis. Arrangements are with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
