Thomas David Meisner "Tom"
AIKEN - Thomas David Meisner, age 75, beloved husband of Nancy Jeanne Adams Meisner of Aiken, South Carolina, passed away his and Nancy's 55th Wedding Anniversary, Friday, June 14th, 2024, at Aiken Regional Medical Center following an illness. Thomas was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Mr. Meisner was born on Saturday, February 5th, 1949, in Stoneham, Massachusetts a son of the late George Albert & Myra J. Goldthwaite Meisner. Mr. Meisner received his Bachelor's Degree in Religion from Lafayette College- PA and later went on to receive his Master's Degree in Science from the Florida Institute of Technology. Tom as a proud veteran of the United States Army having served as a Captain during the Vietnam War Era. Thomas was a dedicated insurance agent at MICOM specializing in Senior Adult Insurance. Tom was a parishioner at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Aiken. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and former member of the Aiken Chamber of Commerce. While he and his wife lived in Lakewood, New Jersey Thomas was extremely involved in their church St. Mary Catholic 1church where he serving as an Elector and Eucharistic Minister. He was also a member of the Phi Kappa Psi serving as a former board secretary for the fraternity. In addition, he served as an advisor to the local Phi Kappa Psi New Jersey Delta. Tom loved the game of golf, the observation of birds but most of all he loved the time he was able to spend with his wife and best friend, their family and their friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by their son and daughter-in-law, Thomas D. & Kim Meisner II of Hastings on Hudson, NY, daughter Krista Meisner, and grandchildren Isabel Meisner, Max Meisner, James Nolan, and Connor Nolan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robb Meisner and a sister, Cece Peterson.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 11:00am at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, 138 Fairfield St SE, Aiken, SC 29801 with The Rev, Father Orlando Seranno Ardila as celebrant.
Private Final Rites and Commendations will take place on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church Columbarium.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, June 25, 2024, from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at The Historic George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave SW, Aiken, SC 29801 (803) 649-6234. A prayer service will take place at 6:15pm.
Memorials in remembrance of Tom may be made to the Knights of Columbus, 1003 Spaulding Drive, Aiken, SC 29803.
