Michael Brandon Obituary

Michael (Mike) John Brandon, age 69, of Akron, Colorado, went to his final resting place on November 24, 2021, after a long battle with Fronto Temporal Dementia. Michael was born on March 13, 1952 to parents, John and Alvina Brandon. He was raised in Akron, Colorado, where he attended school from Kindergarten through High School and graduated with the Class of 1970. While attending school, Mike was active in wrestling and training manager of the football and track teams.
After graduating, Mike worked at Y-W Electric (REA) as a lineman, until the family started the 4-B's Line Construction Inc. in 1973, where he continued being a lineman. Mike worked as a postman from 1985 until he retired in 2016. Mike's hobbies were raising game birds, pheasant, chukar and quail, where he sold the birds to hunting clubs for training bird dogs. Mike also liked raising a garden, fishing and hunting. Mike also enjoyed working in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he taught altar boys and girls and participated in church services. Mike was a member of the Lions Club, where he was responsible for the Lions Pheasant Hunt. Mike was also awarded Citizen of the Year for helping to save an Akron citizen's life.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, John Brandon; sister, Rebecca Bonin; and nephew, Elijah Raymond Bonin.
Mike is survived by his mother, Alvina Brandon; siblings, Gary Brandon, Tim (Ilene) Brandon and Kathleen (Todd) Forsythe; nieces and nephews, Jeremy Brandon, Amy Brandon/Mike Lindsay, Kevin and Cara Brandon, Valerie (Tony) Jones, Brett Forsythe, Wesley Forsythe, Ashley Forsythe and Curtis Forsythe; great-nieces and nephews, Jacob Brandon, Heather Brandon, Johnathan Brandon, Jacqueline Brandon, Briana Jones, Tony Jones the III, Makayla Brandon and Zachary Brandon, and Riley and Logon Lindsay.
A Rosary was held Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment followed at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial donations, in memory of Mike, may be sent to Alvina Brandon to purchase trees in Mike's honor.

Mike was wonderful person he always had a great
big smile and he greeted people and visit with them
Mike had a heart of gold he enjoyed his family and friends
Mike was out there to take care of his birds and helping his Mom and Dad had the motel when they had
When I seen Mike he alway say hi cuz for cousin and I would say cuz than we would laugh and joke around about it
Rest in peace cuz I love you
