David Tally Bays, 86, formerly of Alamogordo, passed away on Sept. 18, 2013, in Clovis. David was born on Aug. 10, 1927, in Cloudcroft, the son of Jess and Lena Tally Bays.
David married Dorothy Mae True on April, 6, 1946, in Tucumcari.
David honored his country with service to the United States Coast Guard and the U.S. Air Force from 1944-52.
David is survived by one son Darrell and Karen (Kelley) Bays, of Bridgeport, Texas; grandchildren Chris Mitchell, of Clovis; Rebekah (Mitchell) and husband Sonny Wallace, of Chico, Texas; and Tania Bays, of Vancouver, Wash.; great-grandchildren Ethan Henson and Alexandria Mitchell, of Clovis; and Sandra June, Raylana, Jackson and Carolina Wallace, of Chico; sister Mayme Runyan and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
David is proceded in death by his wife of 49 years, parents and two sisters Betty Curry and Letha Keller.
Arrangements are under the care of Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis. Graveside services for David Bays will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at the Monte Vista Cemetery, in Alamogordo.

Sorry for your loss Darrell and Karen. I worked with Dave for several years and he always had a smile and story to give all of us that we're younger than he. He told stories about my granddad and my Uncle Geoge Tally. He will surely be missed may god smile upon you in this time, and bless you all.
