Lara Garno

On Friday, March 30, 2018, Lara Hensley Garno (age 49), wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend, passed away at the Lincoln County Medical Center, Ruidoso, New Mexico. Lara was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer 13 months ago and while some would view this as a struggle, Lara saw it as an opportunity to spread the love of Jesus to everyone she would come into contact with as a result of disease. Lara is held in deep and abiding love by her husband and best friend Paul, and her precious daughter, Zoey Sunshine Hensley. Lara will forever be held in the loving embrace of her siblings, dearest friends, and other cherished relatives.

Born in Colby, Kansas, Lara is a graduate of Hays High School (KS), Fort Hays State University (BA), and the University of Alaska- Fairbanks (MS). Throughout her life Lara served as a professor, counselor, educator, and author. Over the past several years, Lara worked tirelessly for the community members in the Alamogordo area and as a teacher at Mountain View Middle School (7th grade class English Language Arts), with active church membership at Mountain View Assembly of God, Alamogordo, NM.

A Celebration Memorial of Lara's life will be held at 2:00pm, on April 15, 2018, at Mountain View Assembly of God, 1900 23rd St, Alamogordo, NM 88310, with Senior Pastor Anthony Torres presiding. Later a Christian burial will be held in Hay, KS, tba.
