Lorraine Staley Obituary

Lorraine Anton Staley, 88
Lorraine Anton Staley, 88, passed away Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, in Alamogordo. She lived in Alamogordo for more than 55 years. Her husband, Edmund E. Staley, owned and operated the Veterinary Medical Clinic for nearly 40 years before he died in 1998. Their son continues to operate the business.
Mrs. Staley was an avid gardener and a skilled bridge player who at one time played in five bridge clubs at the same time. She was active in area civic organizations and served on the board of the Girl Scouts of America. She and Dr. Staley were married for 51 years and had three children, all of whom survive her. Her survivors include Barbara Staley Brown and Robert C. Brown; Christopher Staley and Elizabeth Staley; and James Belshaw. She had five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at St. Jude Parish with Father Tom Hoffman, SJ, as celebrant. Inurnment will follow at the Columbarium.
The Staley family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
