Lupe Gallegos

1924 - 2011

Lupe Gallegos, 87, of Alamogordo, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011.
She was born to the late Leonardo B. and Leonor L. Gallegos on Aug. 23, 1924, in Tularosa.
Lupe attended the old Red Brick School in Tularosa. She had many fond memories of living and growing up in Tularosa that she would share with her children and grandchildren.
Lupe worked many years in the hospitality industry until she retired in 1983. She was passionate about dancing. Lupe was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Lupe is survived by two children, Ramona Chavez and husband, Rey, of Alamogordo, and Johnny Gallegos and wife, Petra, of Germany. She also is survived by six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Lupe also held dear her late sister's children, whom she loved like grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Junior Gallegos and his wife, Pati, of El Paso.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 705 Delaware Ave., Alamogordo, with Father Bryant Hausfeld, O.F.M., as celebrant.
The Gallegos family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation has taken place at PCS.
