Mabel Dennis

1920 - 2012

Mabel Dennis, 92, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012, in Pittsburgh, Pa. She was born Tuesday, March 9, 1920, in Baltimore, Md., to Clinton and Georgia (Locks) Hall.
Mabel was educated in the Baltimore City Public School system. She had many jobs throughout her life and was very versatile. Mabel married the late Vernon Dennis, and from this union two sons, Larry and Eric Jerome Dennis, were born. Her long career and accomplishments demonstrated her self motivation and vigor. She loved her two sons and taught them good values, life skills and most of all the importance of an education.
Grammy, as she was known by her grandchildren, loved them as much as they loved her.
Survivors include her two sons; one sister, Helena; grandchildren Ericka, Erin, Ebony, Evan, Eric Jr., Jeremy, Jay, Marcus and Tara; great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Funeral services for Mabel Dennis will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Alamogordo Funeral Home, 2301 First St., Alamogordo.
Interment will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2012, at Alamogordo Funeral Home, 2301 First St., Alamogordo.

A Son's Prayer for Momma
Beside her bed I would pray,
Dear God above, don't take her away.
God said, "Your mom has passed the test, my son.
Her work here on Earth is done."
Dear God, her feet get cold at night.
"Remember Eric, she's with me. She will be all right."
