Michael R Edwards

Michael R Edwards, 38, passed away on November 25, 2016 in Alamogordo, New Mexico. He was born on May 3, 1978 in Tucson, Arizona to Gerald and Dorothy Grant Edwards.

Michael was a lifelong resident of the Tularosa Basin. He attended Alamogordo Public Schools until 4th grade and later attended Tularosa Public Schools, graduating from there in 1995. Michael was an avid fan of auto racing and NFL football. His favorite driver was Tony Stewart. His favorite NFL team was the Minnesota Vikings.

Michael was a 'jack-of- all-trades'. He loved to tinker in his shop rebuilding automotive engines; he would fix anything broken! Michael worked the construction field having worked for Shields Construction Co. Michael most recently worked at Home Depot in Hobbs and Alamogordo, NM. Michael loved and was loved back by all. He never met a stranger!

Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Edwards of Tularosa, NM, brother, Gerald R Edwards, Jr. of Osawatomie, KS, sister, Camila E Macatee of Hobbs, NM, son, Jareth-Christopher Barreras of Hobbs, NM, niece, Holly Edwards of Galveston, TX, nephew, Chance Edwards of Osawatomie, KS, nephew, Casen Edwards of Osawatomie, KS, nephew, Scott Macatee of Dallas, TX, niece, Laila Macatee of Hobbs, NM, and nephew, Camdyn Macatee of Hobbs, NM.

He was preceded in death by father, Gerald R Edwards.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at Grace United Methodist Church, located at 1206 Greenwood Ln. Alamogordo, NM, Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 2:00 PM with Dustin Wilhite officiating.
