LINDA BYRD

LINDA BYRD Linda K. (Gaither) Byrd, 83 of Alexandria passed from her earthly home to her heavenly home on May 2, 2025, in Community Hospital, Anderson after extended illness. She was born in Anderson, Indiana on March 31, 1942, and was the daughter of Willis and Mae (Hazelbaker) Gaither. On March 1, 1970, she married Terry Byrd who preceded her in death on November 6, 2014. For many years, Linda was an active member of the Alexandria Nazarene Church. Linda retired from Huntington Bank as a cashier/teller. Linda was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and always enjoyed her time spent with her family. She was an avid shopper, she always liked good sales. Through the years Linda loved her sports cars, owning a couple of camaros, a corvette and 1957 Chevy at one time. She would always be ready for a ride with Shane in his corvette. Surviving are her children, Alina (Shawn) Snyder and Shane (Laura) Byrd; her grandchildren, Kaylee Snyder, Kiersten Snyder, Tanner Snyder, Zack (Morgan Heck) Byrd and Emma "Onyx" Byrd. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Terry Byrd. A service to honor Linda's memory will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service, Park Ave. Chapel, 1503 S Park Ave., Alexandria with Rev. Aaron Chester officiating. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery, Alexandria. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Alexandria Nazarene Church, 1401 S Harrison St., Alexandria, Indiana 46001 or in care of the funeral home.
