Ben L. Schuette
Orange Grove - Ben L. Schuette, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away at the age of 86, on June 17, 2021, at his home in Orange Grove, TX, with family by his side.
He was born on September 20, 1934, in Alice, Texas, to Irene and Benjamin C. Schuette.
Ben was a Master Electrician and owner of Schuette Electric Company. He was a member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, IBEW, American Legion and served in the United States Army.
He married Mary Ann Wostal on June 6, 1954 and raised five children.
Ben was a proud and humble Christian man, loved by all those who knew him. He was well known for his great sense of humor, witty puns, keen insight and good heart. Ben had an impeccable work ethic and lived life with wisdom, compassion, integrity and generosity. He took pleasure in doing for others by donating his time and talents to worthy causes. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, ranching, woodworking, dominoes and beer drinking.
He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann Schuette, brothers Wilburn and Earl Schuette, and his great grandson Mason Kieschnick.
He is survived by five children Debra Sherry (Michael), Brenda Weil, Cindy Vernon, Lori Slusher and Ben Schuette (Stephanie); 8 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Charlie Weil (Brittany, Harvey, Benjamin); Frances Weil Pearce (Brad); Bryan Connor, Jon Vernon, Zachary Kieschnick, Skylar Kieschnick (Jessica, Grayson, Adelyn), Abigail Schuette and Grace Schuette. Six brothers and sisters, Earline Paul (Blaine), Francis Schuette (Jan), Marie Ann Berry (Sonny), Howard Schuette (Vicki), Randy Schuette (Eileen) and Sherill Perez (Manuel).
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021, from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 PM, both at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Orange Grove, Texas. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. John of the Cross Catholic Cemetery in Orange Grove, Texas.
Arrangements are entrusted to Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 East Main Street, Alice, Texas.

Condolences and Sympathy for the Family of Ben . I remember Ben as a very courteous and caring individual for many years during my career at the Spohn Hospital Radiology Department .
