ESMERALDA M. GARZA
With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Esmeralda M. Garza age 87, who entered eternal rest on October 17, 2025 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Esmeralda was born on October 25, 1937 to Ambrocio Garcia Garza and Maria Mireles Garza. Esmeralda valued education and hard work. She graduated from William Adams High School. Esmeralda began her early career working at JCPenney in Alice, Texas as a dedicated and loyal employee for 40 years. Her excellence to details in her working profession as interior decorator was unmatched. She was a perfectionist in her job.
Esmeralda was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court of St. Jude Thaddeus Council #1770.
Esmeralda enjoyed baking especially during the holiday season and shared her baked goods with family and friends. Her specialty was lemon meringue pie. She loved being around family and friends especially during this joyous time.
Above all, Esmeralda was a loving and caring person acting as both aunt and mother. After the loss of her sister Berta Garza Rosales, she devoted her time and effort raising her sister Berta's children as her own. She was affectionately called Mom.
Her departure leaves a void in all the hearts that she touched. A void extremely difficult to fill.
Esmeralda was preceded in death by her parents, Ambrosio Garcia Garza, Maria Mireles Garza, Berta G. Rosales (Brigido Q. Rosales), Aurelia "Connie" Soliz (Pedro "Pete" G. Soliz), (Louis Crespo+), nephews, Luis Arturo Rosales and Roberto "Bobby" Rosales. Miguel Valadez.
She is survived by her loving sister Ana G. Valadez (Miguel) of New Braunfels, Texas; Her son Carlo G. Rosales of Alice, Texas; Nephews Rene Javier Rosales (Blanca) of Alice, Texas, Mark Valadez of New Braunfels, Texas; Nieces Judy Ann Flores (Oscar+) and Anita Valadez of Austin, Texas.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at Holmgreen Mortuary 2061 E. Main ST. Alice, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, followed by a Christian Burial at Alice Cemetery.
