Freer, Texas - Jorge Samuel Lerma, 24 years of age, gained his Cadillac converter wings on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Jorge was born in Webster, Texas on April 14, 1997 to his parents Raquel Perez and Mario Lerma. Jorge loved spending time with his boys who he loved with all his heart and played video games with them. He had a passion for cars, he loved working on anything that had four wheels. He enjoyed working in the oilfields and loved to cook. He had a sense of humor and was the comedian of the family. He was always there to give a helping hand to whoever needed one even when he was the one needing the help. He will be dearly missed by all.
Jorge is preceded in death by his brother, Samuel Andrew Lerma; paternal grandparents, Crescencio and Audelia Lerma; maternal grandmother, Maria Elda Medellin; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jorge is survived by his mother, Raquel (Rosendo) Perez; his father, Mario Lerma, Sr. ; his two sons, James and Aiden Lerma; two sisters, Tabatha (Brandon Gutierrez) Medellin of Alice, Texas, and Selina (Israel) Molina of Pearland Texas; six brothers, David (Kayla) Lerma of Corpus Christi, Texas, Mario Lerma Jr. of Alice Texas, Desmond, Randy (Linda), Lee and Danny Perez all of Corpus Christi, Texas; maternal grandfather, Abelardo Medellin from San Diego, Texas; aunts, Leticia (Jesus) Garcia of Ft. Worth, Texas, Rosalinda (Santos) Trevino of Beeville, Texas, Shelly (Felix) Medellin Aguirre of Corpus Christi, Texas, Linda (Joe) Jalomos of Del Rio, Texas, Elma Lerma of Freer, Texas; two uncles, Hector Lerma and Alejandro (Alma) Lerma of Freer, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, great aunts and uncles.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic we will be following all CDC and Government mandates and ask each guest to do so as well. We ask everyone to follow social distancing and wear masks inside the funeral home and church.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 5, 2021 at Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Garza Funeral Home in Freer, Texas. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Freer, Texas. Interment will follow at Hahl Memorial Cemetery in Freer, Texas.
