Jose Leal Obituary
Jose Homero Leal "Joe" Jose Homero Leal "Joe", passed away November 18, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born April 8, 1957 in Alice, Texas to Augustine G. Leal and Rebecca Martinez Leal. Joe Leal was the owner of JL Construction for over 35 years. He took over his dad's work ethics and was dedicated to his jobs and workers. Joe not only was the owner of the company, but worked right side by side with his workers very proudly. Joe cared about his workers and also took them on yearly trips gambling and BBQ'd for them and gave the workers well deserved bonuses. Joe made a lot of friends with contractors in the business. He was well respected in the concrete industry. He had a very well respected relationship with his CPA, Trisha Bryant and his business attorney, Mr. Bob Wheeler. Joe would take a yearly trip to Ruidoso, New Mexico and absolutely loved horse racing and hanging out with his Ruidoso friends. He also enjoyed going to Kickapoo and taking his mother-in-law, aunt Irene and his sisters always telling them put more money and not to be afraid to lose cause after all that's what we came for, making them laugh. Joe had a very big love for all his brothers and sisters and loved all his nieces and nephews, but had a special love and admiration for his niece, Savanna Nicole Williams and was very proud of her accomplishments. Joe's absolutely loved spending time with the grandkids and family and absolutely very proud of his boys. He loved his Dallas Cowboys as well. Joe had a special love for his cows and the cows adored Joe and let's not forget about his dog shorty, he loved shorty too. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Augustine G. and Rebecca M. Leal; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jose Mario Guerra and Elia O. Guerra. Joe leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife if 44 years, Linda G. Leal of Alice; three sons, Samuel Reno Leal (Marissa) of San Antonio, Marcos Aaron Leal (Michelle) of Alice, and Michael Ryan Leal of Alice; seven siblings, Raquel Leal (Reynaldo) of Katy, Elizabeth Rivera (Adan) of Corpus Christi, Rebecca Caruthers (Roy) of Bay City, Carlos Leal (Stephanie) of Corpus Christi, Yolanda Esther Atkinson (Alfonso) of Brownsville, Priscilla Leal of Corpus Christi, and Samuel Leal (Leticia) if Alice; three brothers-in-law, Jose Carlos Guerra (Berta) of Alice, Jose Mario Guerra of Alice, and Omar Guerra of Austin; three grandchildren, Laura Rene Leal, Melodie Jayde Leal, and Owen Ryan Leal; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held Friday, November 25, 2022, at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 5 pm with a prayer service to be held at 7 pm that evening. A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 10 am at Emmanuel Baptist Church; 701 Hickey Street. Burial to follow at New Collins Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rolando Salaiz, Rudy Salaiz, Artemio Gonzalez, Brian Leal, Robert Leal, and Sergio Leal. Honorary pallbearers will be Samuel Rene Leal, Marcus Aaron Leal, Michael Ryan Leal, Carlos Leal, and Sammy Leal. He fought a courageous battle with cancer and never gave up. He was blessed to have his brothers, sisters, wife, and sons alongside him fighting this battle with him. A special thank you to the New Century Hospice nurse, Jackie Gonzalez who was a complete blessing, and Marivel for all your care during these difficult days.
