LEANDRO G. SANCHEZ SAN DIEGO, TEXAS--- Mr. Leandro G. Sanchez (Slim / La Loba) was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at the age of 92. He was born in Three Rivers, TX on August 8, 1932 to Domingo Sanchez and Guadalupe Guerra. He is preceded in death by his parents, his older brother Domingo Sanchez Jr., younger brother Ricardo Sanchez, and older sister Lucia Sanchez. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Soila S. Sanchez. He is also survived by his 3 daughters Mireya Sanchez Nunez (Nico), Beatriz Sanchez, and Sylvia Greene (David). Additionally, his 3 grandchildren Vanesza Mireya Nunez-Sanchez, Nickko Leandro Nunez (Kayla), and Austin Jacob Greene. Lastly, his 4 great-grandchildren, Alejandro D. Reyes, Gavyne I. Zamora, Vannah L. Nunez, and Bodi K. Nunez. He was an Honorably Discharged War Veteran who served during the Korean War. Pallbearers were David Greene, Austin J. Greene, Alejandro D. Reyes, Gavyne I. Zamora, Gerardo G. Vallejo, and Terry Grondin. Honorary Pallbearers were Nick E. Nunez and Nickko Leandro Nunez. Visitation hours were held on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home, in San Diego, TX. Burial services followed at the San Diego Cemetery, including full Military Honors by the United Veterans Burial Association of Alice, Texas. The family would like to thank the staff at Christus Spohn Hospital in Alice, TX, and the staff at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in San Diego, TX.
