Raquel “Rachel” Ramirez Obituary
Raquel ""Rachel"" H. Ramirez, age 77, passed away on September 21, 2025, in Alice, Texas. She was born on February 22, 1948, in Hebbronville, Texas to Jose Dagoberto and Elena Gloria B. Hernandez.
Rachel was a strong-willed woman. Her vibrant spirit enjoyed music, being outdoors and traveling. She devoted herself to being the best mom; often taking her children on trips to theme parks, baseball games, and numerous vacations. She relished the opportunity to host a party.
In more recent years, she embraced the excitement of playing cards and gambling. Her trips to Lucky Eagle Casino were something she looked forward to every year on her birthday.
Rachel was most passionate about cooking and baking, and it was her way of expressing her love for those around her. Her spontaneous ""are you hungry?"" came natural to her. Her home-cooked meals often became the highlight of family gatherings where everyone looked forward to her signature dishes. She had the ability to prepare large quantities of comfort food for any occasion.
She loved the holidays, not just for the festive spirit but for the opportunities they created to gather with loved ones. They instilled family traditions and created lasting memories. She especially looked forward to Sunday gatherings at home; these occasions held a special place in her heart. It was about reminiscing, sharing stories and laughter around the table. And, as her children departed on those Sunday evenings, her voice would utter a special ""have a blessed week"". Her Sunday gatherings have become our ritual and her family legacy. She will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Dagoberto and Elena Gloria B. Hernandez; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Valentine Sr. and Julia G. Ramirez; and one son-in-law, Arturo P. Salinas.
