ROBERT KELIEHOR Obituary

ROBERT RAYMOND KELIEHOR, SR. Robert Raymond Keliehor, Sr., 71, passed away at his home on July 2, 2025 from right-sided heart failure. In his final months, he was surrounded by what brought him the greatest joy-his two children and 6 grandchildren while visiting his daughter, Christine in Frisco and his son, Ray in Bentonville. Bob was the youngest of seven children born to James Albert and Elizabeth Mrazek Keliehor on December 30, 1953 in Alice, Texas. Bob was active in the Boy Scouts and was an Eagle Scout. He graduated from Alice High School in 1972, where he dedicated his high school years for the Alice Coyotes. He then attended Texas Tech University on a football scholarship and was a member of the PIKE fraternity. Bob was a kind, gentle, and patient soul with a heart of gold. He had an incredible memory and loved sharing stories from the past, especially when it came to history, sports, and family traditions. He could recall details with remarkable clarity and always had a way of making history come alive in conversation. He was an avid football fan and followed college football-especially Texas Tech. In retirement, Bob enjoyed time at his lake house viewing south Texas sunsets, sharing fishing stories, helping neighbors, and catching up with friends old and new. He had a gift for making people feel welcome, and his presence brought warmth and laughter to every gathering. He is survived by his son, Ray Keliehor and wife Erika of Bentonville, Arkansas; daughter, Christine Visosky and husband Adam of Frisco. He had six grandchildren whom he cherished and adored: Madison and Avery Keliehor; Claire, Kate, Connor, and Cole Visosky-who knew him affectionately as "Grand Bob"; sister, Annette (Jack "Olen") Starr of Alice; brothers, Tom Keliehor of Seabrook, and Mike (Peggy) Keliehor of Hitchcock. He was preceded in death by his brothers James (Jim) Keliehor, John Keliehor, and Billy Keliehor.

Alice Coyotes Football Teammates Class of 1972

July 27, 2025

Our deepest condolences and love to Bobby's beautiful children, Ray and Christine, and grandchildren, whom he spoke of often and always with glowing pride! We also extend our thoughts and prayers to the Keliehor family, asking for God's peaceful healing and loving embrace!

Bobby was a proud member of the Alice High School football team, the mighty Alice Coyotes, Class of 1972. He was a vital part of our version of a band of brothers, affectionately dubbed 50 years later as "The Buzzard Puke Boys" -- The BPBs -- based on a favorite expression barked by one of our coaches, usually heard during Monday practice, when the team was dragging following a fun-filled teenage weekend.

Bobby was the epitome of a BPB - tough, intensely focused, and dedicated to hard work and teamwork. Being a Warrior, Winner and Leader, mostly demonstrated by his actions, best describes his contributions to our team. His all was given for every yard on every play. Never a complaint was heard about being tired or hurt. Consequently, he had the utmost respect from all of his teammates and coaches. Bobby certainly enhanced the Keliehor brothers' legacy of representing the best in Alice Coyotes football lore!

Outside of football, our brother Bob always was ready for the next adventure. A warm heart, a giving nature, and a penchant for laughter made for a perfect friend! It was clear that you mattered to him.

Upon our team's reconnecting 50 years later, Bobby's caring side truly shone through. Particularly, love and concern for his twin brother, Mike, a fellow BPB, was evidenced by his requests for prayers from The BPBs when Mike's health issues arose. He was also sure to follow up with his friends when needed or just to check in. The latter typically ended with laughter reminiscent of teenage days, as old adventures in Big-A were often revisited.

Our BPB brother will be missed immensely and always loved. For now, he has joined our other beloved BPBs that have left us far too soon. Until we all reunite 100 yards down the field in the end zone with God´s blessings and glory, like we did so many times in the Fall of 1971, GO YOTES!

According to The Alice Daily Echo newspaper, in September of 1968, Bobby, only a ninth-grader at Dubose Junior High, accomplished a phenomenal feat in the school's season-opening game at Memorial Stadium against its crosstown rival. The newspaper's reporting was as follows in the Second Quarter nearing halftime, with Bobby facing the challenge in his typical no-big-deal perspective: "Stymied at the Mustang 30 yard line, the Bulldogs pulled out the stops and Keliehor lofted his right shoe to the sidelines and proceeded to rip the ball 47 yards...for a perfect field goal." Yes, Bobby kicked that ball wearing only a sock on his kicking foot when the kicking style was still straight-on with the toes striking the ball -- Amazing!! Straight through the uprights, just like his trip to Heaven.

We were so very blessed to have known Bobby beginning with our formative years! Collectively, we honor and salute our fellow BPB and treasured friend.
