Edward Buttikofer Obituary

SULPHUR - Edward "Boy" Buttikofer, 85, died at 3:39 p.m. Friday, August 20, 2021, in his residence.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Sulphur. Boy proudly served our country as a U.S. Marine for eight years. After returning to Sulphur he worked for many years as a Boilermaker for PPG from which he retired. He enjoyed woodworking, yard work, and listening to French music. Boy also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. You could often find him sitting on the front porch or riding his devoted dog, "Tanzi" on the "Zydeco Lawnmower".
Survivors include his siblings, Evelyn Goodrich of Duson and Jerry Buttikofer of Lafayette; and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Edna Mae Buttikofer; brother, Freddie "Cozo" Buttikofer; sister, Barbara "Bobbie" Suire; wife, Carolee Hand Buttikofer; and longtime companion, Nancy Ball. Boy's love will be greatly missed by his faithful sidekick, Tanzi, and all that knew him. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Gretchen Newman for the care she gave him. "GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN".
A memorial graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 1, in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
