Linda Lilly Obituary

After a lengthy illness, Linda Gail Talbert Lilly passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 4 a.m.
She was born on March 1, 1950 in Lake Charles, La. to the union of the late Agnes George Talbert and the late Gabriel Talbert. She was baptized at an early age and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at Christian Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor W. C. Clark. She was a devoted member for over 60 years serving on the Senior Usher Board before her health declined remaining a member ending under the leadership of Pastor Edward Alexander Jr.
Linda attended Second Ward Elementary School and graduated from W. O. Boston High School in 1968. After graduating from high school, Linda was employed primarily as a cook for over 51 years retiring from Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in 2005 after more than 30 years.
Linda was formerly married to Anthony Lilly Sr. and to this union, three sons were born; Anthony Joseph Lilly Jr., Michael Gabriel Lilly and Dedrick Jermaine Lilly.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel Talbert and Agnes George Talbert; three brothers, Wilson "Jr. Boy" Clayton Jr., Alvin Ray Talbert; and James Calvin "Jimmy" Talbert; two sisters, Dorothy Barnes and Joan Cuba; four sisters-in-law, Cassandra Talbert, Judy Talbert, Cheryl Diane Lilly– Denton and Iris Lilly; four brothers-in-law, Robert Cuba, Sr., John Stevens, David Lilly and Felton Lilly; four nephews, Kenneth Moore, Gary Doss, Kevin Talbert and James Moorer.
Linda is survived by her three sons; Anthony Joseph (Deborah) Lilly Jr., Michael Gabriel (Kimetha) Lilly and Dedrick Jermaine (Courtney) Lilly; two sisters, Orelia Stevens of Downey, Calif. and Faye (Tony) Toussand of Lake Charles, La.; three brothers; Donald Ray (Brenda) Talbert, Ernest (Debra) Talbert and Ronald Talbert, all of Lake Charles, La.; five grandsons, Donovan Waters of Virginia Beach, Va.; Anthony J. Lilly III, Aaron J. Lilly, Alexander J. Lilly, and Michael J. Lilly; six granddaughters; Ashley J. Lilly, Katelyn B. Brignac, Kourtlyn D. Lilly, Kalei S. Lilly, Kenadi R. Lilly and Mikayla L. Lilly all of Lake Charles, La.; three great-granddaughters, Kira H. Guidry, Olivia Bailey and Anica Lilly all of Lake Charles, La., two sisters-in law, Gloria Talbert and Donna Lilly of Lake Charles, La., two brothers-in-law, Albert Lilly Jr., of Port Arthur, Texas, and Jerry (Debra) Lilly, of Houston, Texas, and a host of nieces, nephews, Godchildren, other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at Christian Baptist Church on Saturday, July 10, 2021, from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. with a memorial service immediately following with Pastor Edward J. Alexander Jr. officiating. Cremation was entrusted to James Funeral Home.
