Shelly Smith Obituary

Shelly was born in Mamou, LA on September 2, 1967 to John J. Smith and Mary Joy Naquin Smith and was called home to her Heavenly Father on April 30, 2021 while surrounded by her loving family. She was a retired operator from Conoco Phillips. Shelly's greatest pleasure came from loving her family and the time she was able to spend with them making memories that will be cherished by those she leaves behind. She loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, playing the guitar, and she was an avid animal lover. Shelly was a member of the A.C.T.S. Community, and the St. Martin DePorres Ladies Altar Society. Shelly deeply loved her family and community and dedicated her efforts to successfully organizing benefits and events for the Alzheimer's Association where she organized Team Granger as well as events to support Breast Cancer Awareness. Her strong faith, kind heart, caring actions and words taught all who knew her the definitions of love and family.
Shelly is survived by her parents, John & Joy Smith of Roanoke, LA; her son, John Colin Smith of Lake Charles, LA; her best friend & life long companion, Marla Kay Granger of Lake Charles, LA; her brother, Winston Scott Smith (Cyndi) of Youngsville, LA; her niece & nephew, Colt Smith of Youngsville, LA & Cassie Smith of Baton Rouge, LA; her sisters-in-law, Lisa (Timmy) LeJeune & family of Mermentau, LA, Rhonda Granger (Bridgette Hunter) & family of Moss Bluff, LA, Tricia (Tad) Richard & family of Eunice, LA, Kyla (David) Thibodeaux & family of Lake Charles, LA.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always. Shelly was always pleasure to work with at ConocoPhillips. She had such an outgoing personality that made being around her a FUN time. So sorry for the loss and she will truly be missed by those of that worked with her. Love and Prayers!
