Charles Young Obituary

Charles Edward Young Jr. was born on February 26, 1961, in Bogalusa, Louisiana. He was a proud father, a hardworking man, and someone who could build just about anything with his own two hands. On October 16th, 2025, surrounded by his family, our hearts broke as we said goodbye - not just to a loved one, but to a father, grandfather, brother, and friend. The soul of so many memories, lessons, and laughs will forever be missed. He proudly served his country in the United States Army before spending many years working in the oil field. His craftsmanship was something special - from carpentry to any project that needed fixing, he had a gift for bringing things to life. One of his proudest accomplishments was building his family a home on the river - a place that became a true reflection of him and a reminder of the life he built. When he wasn't working, you could find him outdoors - hunting, fishing, or just soaking in the peace of nature. That's where he found his calm. He lived for those quiet moments and shared that love of the outdoors with the people closest to him. No matter what was going on, he was always there when you needed him - whether it was to fix something, lend a hand, or just sit and talk while listening to music. He had a way of showing up that made you feel seen, heard, and cared for. Those simple moments meant more than words could ever say. He was a proud father who grew into a man full of love, patience, and understanding. In his later years, his heart showed in the way he cared, the conversations he shared, and the time he spent with family. He taught us about strength, hard work, and how to find joy in the little things. Our hearts are heavy, but we're forever grateful for the life he built and the love he gave. His hands may be still now, but everything he touched - and everyone he loved - carries a piece of him forward. His strength, pride, and quiet love will never fade. He is survived by: His children; Bradley Young (Leslie), Cody Young, Jenna Young, Charles Tanner Young (Melody) and a loving stepdaughter Sabrina Fitzsimmons, His grandchild he loved deeply, Blayden Young, Brothers; Stephen Young and Michael Young, Nephews; Brandon Young, Tyler Young, Kayden Young, Kiden Young, Billy Gay, and Joseph Penton, Niece: Claire Young, Uncles; Edgar Wesley Fuller and Richard Young Aunts; Evelyn Brumfield and Elsie Thomas. He was preceded in death by: Mother; Jeanette Young, Father; Charles Edward Young Sr., Grandparents; Edgard and Bernice Fuller, Evis and John Young, Sisters; Susan Young Penton and Donna Young Varnado, Niece; Jessica Shay Young, Nephew; Ron Michael Varnado. Services to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 11:00a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00a.m. at Terrace Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Duncan Officiating, Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery. We'll gather to honor the man who built more than homes - he built connection, peace, and a lasting legacy of love that will live on forever.
