Evelyn "Pauline" Crappel

Evelyn "Pauline" Crappel passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at the age of 80, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 14, 1945, in Prentiss, Mississippi, Pauline moved to New Orleans, Louisiana at the age of 13 and later settled in Slidell, Louisiana, which she called home since 1994. Pauline is the beloved daughter of the late Johnny and Mattie Bridges and was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Maurice John Crappel; her daughter, Debbie Norris; and her siblings, Dorothy Bolton, Charlene Colegrove, Bobbie Lou Clabert, J.W. Bridges, and William Bridges. Pauline had a zest for life and found joy in traveling, reading, playing cards, and visiting casinos. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and a cherished member of a large extended family. Pauline is survived by her children, Paula DeMara (Kent), Michael Crappel (Vanessa), and Charlotte Crappel; her grandchildren, Kerri, Kent Jr., Kristin, Brittany, Hayley, Andrew, Cameron, Layne and Lexie; and her great-grandchildren, Lucca, Alissa, Ayden, Kaylee, Kade, Jonnie, Corbin, Rowan and Kyeson. She also leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces who will miss her dearly. A private family memorial service will be held in her honor.
