Joseph J. Hamm

Joseph, age 38, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. He was a resident of Independence, LA. Joseph was an active member of the United States National Guard where he currently served as Staff Seargent. He was an extremely hard worker who worked his way up to Project Manager for Trade Construction. Joseph took great pride in providing for his family and considered it his most important job of all. He enjoyed going on spontaneous adventures with his family, and spending time outdoors. Being a husband and father was the most important thing to Joseph and soon he was to be a grandfather. He was a strong man who never let others go without. Joseph left his family with countless wonderful memories and will be forever missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Amanda Hamm; sons, Landon McDonald (Rylie Stockton), Gavin Hamm; parents, Vincent and Maria Hamm; siblings, Vincent Hamm, Johnathan Hamm, Jenny Hamm, Jaqueline Holland; a granddaughter on the way, Mavis JoAnna Kay McDonald; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Melissa Hamm; and brother-in-law, Aaron Holland. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home at 12012 Hwy 190 W Hammond, LA 70401 on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m.
