Karen Anne Sutton

Karen Anne Matthews Sutton, at the age of 60, met her heavenly Father on September 17, 2025. She was born on August 24, 1965, to her parents, Kenneth and Yvonne Matthews. At the age of 30, she went country dancing with a group of friends and while dancing with Mark Sutton, she looked in his eyes and said, "I like you". That was the beginning of the beautiful love story of Mark and Karen, that spanned for 28 years and will last long after. They welcomed their daughter, Emma, who is the light of their lives. Her family meant absolutely everything to her; including her dogs Ammie, Chanti, and Bella. Karen loved babysitting, Jazzercise, shopping at Kohl's, bird watching, and watching her favorite show "Modern Family". She just adored socializing with friends and her love of country line dancing never wavered. Karen's love will forever remain in the hearts of everyone that dearly loves her. Karen is survived by her loving husband of 28 wonderful years, Mark D. Sutton; her beloved daughter, Emma A. Sutton; her mother, Yvonne Matthews; and sister, Carol Matthews. Karen is preceded by her father, Kenneth Matthews. In honor of Karen's vibrant spirit and joyful personality, the family kindly requests that attendees refrain from wearing black. Instead, please wear bright, cheerful colors that reflect the light and love Karen brought into the lives of those around her. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation in the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home 7738 Florida Blvd. Denham Springs, LA 70726, on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary, LA at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home.
