Funeral Services for Lonnie Lea Wilson, age 84, of Picayune, MS, who passed away Monday, June 23, 2025, will be held Friday, June 27, 2025, at 11:00 am at Sycamore Missionary Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Friday, June 27, 2025 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Sycamore Missionary Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Gipson Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Bro. Donnie Smith will officiate the service.
A native of McNeill, MS and Picayune, MS, Lonnie taught school at Carriere and Lakeshore, MS. He loved motorcycles, chess, cards, dancing, riding his old Farmall H. tractor, and spending time with his family and friends and talking about history and genealogy. Lonnie will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was in charge of keeping his high school class mates of 1959 in contact with each other.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sirl Wilson, Iva Landry Hamby, and his step father, Granville Hamby; his sister, Rebea Strand; and granddaughter, Danielle White.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Wilma Mitchell Wilson; his daughters, Tara (Kenneth) White, Ski (John) Kennedy, and Nicki Wilson; grandchildren, Eric Powell, Christopher Bennett, Jacob (Rose) Kennedy, and Amber Kennedy; great grandchildren, Hunter Thomas, and Gracie Parks; his sister, Georgia Ann Wilson Martin; nieces and nephews, Jo Ann "Joie" White, Susan M. Martin, Laurie Lynn Martin, Tammy (Todd) Stockstill, Marcy (Thomas) Mitchell, Stacey (Robert) Carter, Belinda (Ken) Howard, and Terry (Susan) Lee.
