Michael Charles Walling, of Thomasville, North Carolina, passed away on August 14, 2025, at the age of 58. Born on September 24, 1966, in Slidell, Louisiana, Michael's life was a testament to the strength and warmth of the human spirit. His presence was a beacon of love and creativity that touched the lives of all who knew him. Michael was the beloved son of Rita Walling and the late Charles "Chuck" Walling. He grew up in Slidell, where he attended Slidell High School, forming lifelong friendships and memories. Michael was a devoted brother to Marla Walling McCloud and shared a special bond with his late brother-in-law, Harold "Mac" McCloud, and his late nephew, Nicholas Walling. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he cherished the moments spent with them above all else. Professionally, Michael dedicated many years to the steel industry, where he honed his skills in a local machine shop. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident to his colleagues and superiors, earning him respect and admiration within the industry. Michael's involvement in his work community was marked by his willingness to lend a helping hand and his unwavering support for his fellow workers. Michael's love for the outdoors was unparalleled. He found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of fishing and hunting, often sharing his adventures with friends and family. His deep appreciation for nature's beauty was a constant source of inspiration for his artistic pursuits. Michael was an exceptionally talented artist, and his creative works were a reflection of his love for the world around him. Those who knew Michael would describe him as loving above all else. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church in Slidell.
