Odeal Gaines

ODEAL GAINES, AGE 84 And a resident of Franklinton passed away Friday morning October 24, 2025 at Fair City Health and Rehab. She was born near Mount Hermon on August 18, 1941 and was the past owner of Chatterbox Beauty Shop for over 30 years. In her later years, she and her husband drove an 18 wheeler cross-country, delivering products all over the United States. Odeal was a longtime member of Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Church in Pine. She is survived by: Son and daughter in law: Wayne and Shelia Gaines of Thomas Grandchildren and Spouses: Amy and Rev. Mike Dillon of Lucedale, MS, Tracy and Chad Thomas of Franklinton, LA, Kevin and Vickie Gaines of Foxworth, MS, Janet Gaines of Slidell, LA Great-grandchildren: Zachary and Leah Brooks, Ryan Thomas, Logan Thomas, Luke Thomas, Faith Brooks, Kaydence Gaines, Olivia Gaines, Rheya McDowell Great-great-grandson: Daxton Brooks and his mother Christian Dunn Sister: Patricia Ann Thomas Also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins She was preceded in death by her son Ronnie, husband Joe, 5 sisters Leatrice, Bonnie Sue, Gertrude, Carolyn, Ella Rose, 5 brothers Grover, Eugene, Jerry, Zeke, Larry and other family members. Services will be held on Tuesday October 28th at Faith Tabernacle Church with visitation beginning at 9:00 am followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm with Rev. Jerry Cox and Rev. Jeff Dykes officiating. Burial will follow in the Sharon Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery on Hwy. 16. Pallbearers: Zachary Brooks, Ryan Thomas, Logan Thomas, Luke Thomas, Hollis Barber, Daryl Barber
