Violet Wirt Obituary

Violet Jean Wirt, age 87, of Slidell, LA, passed away on September 25, 2025, at Slidell Memorial Hospital. She was a beloved wife, mother, sibling, and aunt. A native of Princeton, West Virginia and longtime resident of Slidell, Louisiana. She is survived by her son, Christopher Dean Wirt; her grandson, Joshua Michael Wirt; great grandson, Sawyer Weston Wirt; and her four siblings JoAnn Satterwhite of Virginia, Helen Eldridge of Wisconsin, Patricia Maringer of South Carolina, and her brother Leonard Fred Cooper Jr. of West Virginia. Along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Howard Franklin Wirt (Chief Warrant Officer USCG Ret.); her son, Howard Michael Wirt; her parents, Hazel Wiley & Leonard Fred Cooper of Princeton, West Virginia; and two sisters, Jerry Carver, and Shirley Cambre. Violet spent 30 years alongside her husband traveling for his military career. They traveled all over the country with their sons. She loved life and was always ready for her next challenge. She was the leader of their military wives' club, a fantastic cook, and gardener. Arrangements by Honaker Funeral Home, Inc., Slidell, LA.
