Schneider, Nuel K. 3/20/1938 - 11/14/2021 Nuel Keller Schneider passed away peacefully on November 14, 2021. He was born on March 20, 1938 in Ann Arbor to Louis and Irma Schneider. Nuel grew up in Saline, and graduated from Saline High School. Nuel married his high school sweetheart Ardis Stump in 1957. Nuel proudly served in the Army National Guard, and had an impactful career of 28 years with the Washtenaw County Sheriff Department, beginning as a road deputy, and retiring as a beloved Lieutenant. He had a smile for everyone and never met a stranger. Nuel and Ardis retired to Swansboro, NC, where they made many friends and had a special relationship with his nephew, Jimmy and his wife, Marnie. They returned to Saline three years ago. Nuel was meticulous about taking care of his yard. He was the first to volunteer when anything needed painting. He was devoted to his wife, his daughters, granddaughters and friends. Nuel is survived by his wife, Ardis of 64 years; his daughters, Patricia Hogue (Harold) and Pamela (Robert) Raciti; his granddaughters, Melissa (Nick) Muscato and Jennifer (Brad) Korican; and his great-granddaughters, Sophia and Riley Korican. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Engel. He is predeceased by his parents; his granddaughter, Lynn Bragg; his brother, Louie Schneider and his sister, Mildred Brewer. Cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering be take place Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 10:00am - 12:00pm with the memorial service at 12:00pm at Nie Family Funeral Home, 3767 W. Liberty Rd., Ann Arbor MI 48103. I had the honor of working with Nuel and also considered him a good friend. He was by far one of the best command officers at Washtenaw County. I am so sorry for the family's loss. Thoughts and Prayers to his family.
