1960 - 2022
RUDELICH, ROBERT MICHAEL (MIKE) ROBERT MICHAEL RUDELICH (Mike) died suddenly and peacefully on January 3, 2022. Born in Saint Joseph's Mercy Hospital on May 27, 1960 to Samuel and Josephine Rudelich, Mike was a life-long Ann Arbor resident. He is survived by his two cherished children, Samantha Marie and LCpl Alex Michael Rudelich, five sisters and spouses (Betsy and Chip, Cathy, Margy, Robbie and Lamar, Nicki and Mark), and many nieces and nephews. Raised in a large extended family, Mike valued family and family traditions. He was a proud and loving father, a player of hockey and softball, a soccer and basketball coach to his children, an avid Michigan sports fan, a fisher, a camper, a boater and a lover of the outdoors. He enjoyed hosting family parties and frequently attended football and hockey games where he could be the loudest fan in attendance. Michael was a hard-worker who worked as: a child on the Joy Road family farm, a paper boy, a grocery bagger, a student and graduate of Eastern Michigan University, a house painter, an elementary school teacher, an abuse counselor, a talented builder, and a contractor who owned MR Construction. In short, he was often a handy person to have around. At his best Mike was a funny man, who could be alarmingly sensitive and generous in his friendships. While it is impossible to summarize the life of any one person in a word, when asked to do so his closest relatives created a combined snapshot of the memory Mike leaves behind. Their words are: Wit, heart, resilient, loud, approachable, well-intentioned, and adventurous. Michael was loved. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please remember Michael with donations to the Washtenaw Chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous or Dawn Farms.

Michael will be greatly missed, so very sorry to hear of his sudden, and too early, death. He contributed much to any discussion or gathering, being thoughtful, reflective, sincere, humble, wise and witty. A very caring and generous man with a strong moral compass. He could be very funny with his stories, and had such a variety of experiences to share. A loss to the community as well as his family.

I am shocked and saddened to hear about this. Michael used to be our neighbor on Lakehurst Lane. He was a devoted father and a great handyman, always willing to help us out when we needed it. He installed our current front door and found a problem with the way the original was installed. I can still hear him say: "Lisa..." in that gruff voice of his. His solution was clever and saved us a lot of grief. He definitely will be missed.

I never knew Mike in person, but I learned about his natural goodness, generosity, devoted friendship and humanity from my dearest friend, Hisae. Somebody said, if you want to become an angel be good, do good while you are alive on this earth. It is my understanding that Mike's application to become an angel was well received for he did try his best to do as much good on this earth as he could. Rest in Peace, Robert and my sincere condoleances to the family. (friend of a friend)

It was a shock to hear of Mike's passing. Mike has been part of our lives for a long time. As a friend, co-worker, teammate, he will be missed. Beneath that crusty exterior was a man who was cared for others and provided support for many. You will be remembered and missed my friend!!

I met Mike at Fingerle Lumber many years ago and enjoyed working with him throughout my career. You knew when Mike entered the room and he was very comfortable expressing opinions, whether you wanted to hear them or not. Brash, boisterous and beloved, I will miss Mike for all is strengths & weaknesses, for there are not too many people like him. Rest in Peace my friend.

Mike was one of the most loving and caring people on the planet. He gave more than received. He was a proud father to his children, a mentor to many, and a beloved man of God. I'm one of many who was blessed by him and heartbroken by his passing. Prayers for his family.
