Charlotte "Chee" Cothran Marsh of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, aged 83, passed away on December 24, 2022. A memorial visitation will be held Monday, January 2, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Tuscaloosa. Ms. Marsh will be laid to rest in Forestlawn Gardens in Anniston. She was predeceased by her parents William Porter Marsh, Jr. and Charlotte Jones Marsh and her brother William Porter Marsh, III. She is survived by her two nieces Virginia C. Marsh (Wayne Ramos) of Virginia Beach, VA and Elizabeth M. Vantre (Scott) of Glen Allen, VA and grandnieces and grandnephews Sofia Grace Ramos, William Callahan Ramos, Nicholas Porter Vantre, Steele Thomas Raffaele Vantre, Drew Scott William Vantre, Elizabeth Scott Vantre, as well as her sister in law Veronica C. Marsh and several cousins. She also left behind close friend Jan Sikes of Tuscaloosa, AL. and her family. Charlotte lived in Pelham, New York, Barcelona, Spain, and Birmingham, Tuscaloosa and Northport, Alabama. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education from The University of Alabama in 1980 and a Masters in Special Education from The University of Alabama in 1982. Charlotte was a talented musician with "perfect pitch." She loved to play the guitar with her brother and entertain family and friends through the years with her gift of song. Charlotte was known for her creative and giving spirit. She enjoyed making unique and personal gifts. Whether it was a specially framed picture, a wedding album or a decorative cat pillow, Charlotte made each unique gift with love and wrapped them in the most creative personalized packaging. A Chee wrapped gift was one of a kind. These treasured wrappings still live on in her family's homes and are reused annually. She was a master photographer, documenting special occasions in exquisite detail. Charlotte had a huge heart. She was a lover of all animals. She never met a cat she didn't love. She was the mother to many fortunate felines through the years and a faithful supporter of the humane society. Charlotte had a gift for and love of teaching. She devoted many years to helping students in special education classrooms. Charlotte was also an author who helped make one unique student's experience come to life by writing his biography.
