Chester Carr, Sr. affectionally known as "Cat Coo", started his earthly journey on August 9, 1954, in Anniston. He was born to the loving parentage of Willie A. Carr and Willie J. Carr. Chester accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was baptized at Seventeenth Street Baptist Church and later united with Faith Baptist Church in Anniston, Alabama. He was educated in the Anniston school system and graduated from Cobb High School where he was a proud member of the Class of 1972. Shortly after high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. After serving his country for almost four years, Chester returned to Anniston to seek gainful employment. He demonstrated a strong work ethic early in life, which led him to a successful career as a K-9 trainer for Rev. Nettles and law enforcement and a Civil Engineer at the Anniston Army Depot. Chester took great pride in himself. This was evident in his impeccable sense of style. In his spare time, Chester trained in martial arts and received a black belt in Taekwondo. He brought joy and laughter wherever he went with his comical nature, outgoing personality, and many dance moves. Throughout his life, he exhibited a profound love for people and was often the life of the party, showcasing his dance moves. Chester departed this walk of life and entered eternal rest on Thursday, June 27, 2024, under the care of Regional Medical Center. He was welcomed to his heavenly home by his parents, Willie A. Carr and Willie J. Carr, his brothers, Charles Carr and Willie F. Carr, and his sisters, Julia Carr, Cora Carr, and Patricia Carr Adams. His memory will forever be etched in the hearts of his wife, Tina Carr; his sons, Keo A Carr of Anniston, Deaundre M. Jackson of Birmingham, Alabama, and Chester L. Carr, Jr. of Anniston; his daughter, LaToya K. Carr of Atlanta, Georgia; his grandchildren, AnQuan Z. Carr, Trashaun A. Burnett, Traveno L. Burnett, II, D-Loyalty K. Williams, Tylah G. Favors, and Kanahrii Riem M. Carr; his brother Timothy (Angela) Carr of Bronx, New York; his sisters, Ella S Hopkins of Louisville, Kentucky, Denise Carr and Lillie Williams, both of Anniston; his special friend and caregiver, Katherine Coleman of Anniston; special loved ones, Tarah Sayles, Tiffany Duncan, and Michael Sayles; his best friend, Lonnie "Punkin" Spinks, Sr. of Anniston, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. As we come together to celebrate Chester's life, let us remember the joy he brought to all who knew him, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave. May his spirit live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. S.M. Goodson Funeral Home & Crematory 830 Noble Street Anniston, AL Sheffton M.
