Cora Lea Beason

Cora Lea Beason, 95, died Friday, August 2, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 05, 2013, at Heflin Baptist Church with the Rev. Philip Morris, Dr. Wayne Stevens and Dr. Don Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in Heflin City Cemetery. Visitation will be today, August 4, 2013, from 4 until 6 p.m. at Dryden Funeral Home. Survivors include: daughter, Susan (Wayne) Brimer, of Springville; daughter-in-law, Sharon Beason, of Douglasville, Ga.; grandchild, Edward (Crystal) Beason; grandchild, Amanda (Chip) Hoover; grandchild, Justin Brimer; great-grandchild, Matthew Beason and great-grandchild, Charlie Hoover. Pallbearers will be Justin Brimer, Edward Beason, Buddy Gaines, Ricky Gaines, Jimmy Taylor and Harold Berryhill. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Friendship Sunday school class. Mrs. Beason was a native and life long resident of Cleburne County. She was the oldest member of Heflin Baptist Church where she served in the choir. Cora ran a beauty shop in Heflin for over 50 years, and worked as a Pink Lady at RMC for more than 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Beason; son, Edward Beason; sister, Ora Lea O'Donnell and brother, Clarence Gaines.
