A celebration of life for Dennis L. McGee, Sr., 70, of Anniston, will be held, Friday, September 26, 2025, at 12:00pm at Parker Memorial Baptist Church in Eastaboga. Interment will be in Edgemont Cemetery. A public viewing will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 3pm-7pm at the funeral home. Professional services entrusted to S.M. Goodson Funeral Home-Anniston. Mr. Dennis L. McGee, Sr., a devoted family man, began his earthly journey on January 2, 1955, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was the loving son of the late Willie and Lois McGee. Dennis was a shining light that brought joy and laughter to his family and friends leaving a legacy of love and kindness. Dennis graduated in 1974 from Perry High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he was an outstanding basketball player. Dennis was a God-fearing man who was a member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church where he was ordained as a deacon. He had a profound love for his church, his community, and above all, his family. In January of 1983, Dennis married his beloved Rose and shared a partnership built on love and mutual respect for 42 years. Together, they built a family that was the heart and soul of his world. Dennis was known for his friendly demeanor and his infectious laughter. He found joy in the simple pleasures, whether fishing by the lake, playing a round of golf, or sharing a meal with those he loved. Dennis was a proud Pittsburgh Steelers fan who wore his black and gold with pride, always ready to cheer them on. He was a federal employee for 20 years. His remarkable journey also included being the union president at General Dynamics, where he fought for the rights of his fellow workers. Dennis L. McGee, Sr., a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, completed his earthly journey and entered eternal rest on Monday, September 15, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Lois McGee; son, Christopher Lindsey; grandmother, Cora M. Woods; mother-in-law, Roberta Turner; and brothers-in-law, BigBoy, Sambo, Bolly, Lillian, and Eric. Dennis' memories will forever be cherished by his wife, Rose McGee; sons, Dennis L. (Anika) McGee, Jr., Demond (Jerresa) McGee, and Lazarick Jackson; grandchildren, Derrian McGee, Drayden McGee, Kingston McGee, Kelis McGee, Yusmani Gelpi, Yasmine Gelpi, and Chrystalynn Lindsey; brother, Michael (Sharon) McGee; sisters, Vicki Lawson, Lois Marie McGee, Kayron McGee, and Tonya Chatman; bonus daughter, Erica Turner; uncle, Prenice S. Woods; 3 sisters-in-law; 3 brothers-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends. In honoring Dennis's memory, may we all carry forward his spirit of laughter, love, and commitment to family. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
