The funeral service for Mrs. Donna Lynn Bunt Thomas, 62, of Talladega, will be at 11 am on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Thomas passed away July 8, 2021, at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery. Mrs. Thomas was a 1977 graduate of Oxford High School. She went on to graduate from Central Alabama Community College as a registered nurse. During her years as a nurse, she worked in many facets of medicine and eventually retired working as a hospice and home health care nurse. She loved cooking for large crowds, reading, and craft projects. Mrs. Thomas was a Baptist by faith. She especially enjoyed spending time with and taking care of her family Mrs. Thomas is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Leon Thomas, and her father, James Edward Bunt. She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Barnett and Sabrina Smith and her husband, Tyler; grandchildren, Cody and Savannah Barnett; her mother, Willie Mae Bunt; her brother, Chris Bunt; a sister, Carol Buchanan; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Justin Buchanan, Alan Watson, Andrew Jenkins, Darrell Garrett, Tony Edwards, and J.R. Thomas.
