I first met Elijah Slaughter, Jr. when he was an eighth-grade student at G. W.Carver High School in Montgomery, Alabama. He began then, to demonstrate strong athletic abilities which he perfected over his future years at Carver. "Boney", as he became known by his many friends and peers, became one of the most outstanding all-around athletes at Carver high School He made us proud as he broke many records as a high school athlete and all-around good student.
