Harold Bridges

Harold Bridges, 72, went to be with Jesus, June 19, 2016. He lost his battle with Pneumonia, COPD, Emphysema and Congestive Heart Failure. He is survived by his best friend and love of his life, wife of 47 years, Kathy Sons Bridges; son, Keith Bridges and grandson, Christian of Douglasville, Ga.; mother, Gladys Bridges, of Oxford; sisters, Debra Austin, of DeArmanville, Faye Williams, of Talladega, Janice Estes, of Anniston, Mattie Bailey, of Oxford and Wanda Bridges, of Oxford; brother, Ricky Bridges, of Oxford. Mr. Bridges was preceded in death by his father, Lois Bridges, of Talladega; sister, Era Elders, of Oxford and a brother, Russell Bridges, of Talladega. Harold was a retired dump truck driver for Apac Oxford with 30 years of service. He was a homebody with a passion for working in his yard, gardening, planting trees and flowers. He was a dedicated NASCAR fan and his favorite drivers were Dale Earnhardt Sr., Dale Earnhardt Jr., and was a big Alabama Crimson Tide fan. He treasured his time at home with his wife and their dog, Gabbie. Harold was a good and well respected man, devoted to his family and his friends. Per Harold's request there will be no funeral or services. Family and friends are welcome to visit at their home in DeArmanville. In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations to go to Children's Hospital in honor of Harold's name.
