Jerry Lynn Powers Sr

Munford - Jerry Lynn Powers Sr., 68, of Munford, died Thursday, January 30, 2013. The family will receive friends this evening, February 1, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Usrey Brown-Service Funeral Home with Sonny Champion officiating. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Usrey Brown-Service Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Powers Family Cemetery in Munford. Survivors include his wife, Julia Powers; two sons, Jerry "Buddy" Powers Jr. (Tonya), and Spencer David Powers; grandchildren, Dakota Lynn Powers and Cheyenne Powers; stepdaughters, Susan Lynn Deuel and Shirley Gail Lackey; stepson, John Thomas McClellan; six step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; brothers, George Terrell Powers, Benny Loy Powers, and Herbert Arthur Powers; sister, Omega Ann Putt. He was preceded in death by sister and brother, Janice Wynell Powers and William Doyle Powers. Mr. Powers was a native and lifelong resident of Munford. He had retired from the U.S. Forestry Service. Pallbearers will be Jay Kirk Stephens, Kurk Mayo, Larcus Mayo, Mike Blackburn, Ronnie Lott, David Hogan, George C. Armbrester, and Joe Tom Stephens.
