Mary Kate Davis, 92 of Anniston, Alabama, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother went home to be with her Heavenly Father on July 18, 2021. She was born on August 8, 1928, in Centre Alabama, the daughter of the late Carl and Veryl Morrison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Jackie Davis, two young brothers Walter Joe and Hosea Lee; three sisters and three brother-in-laws Margie and Gerthan Davis, Ann and Jim Davis, and Sara and CL St.Clair, and one sister-in-law Joan Morrison, She is survived by her brother, Jimmy Morrison; three sons, Jerry Davis of Huntington, WV (wife Becky), Bobby Davis (wife Tina) and Steve Davis (wife Susan) of Anniston, AL; four grandchildren, Jerra Weise (Tom) of Mogadore, OH, Jerred Davis (Darcy) of Bellbrook, OH, Lindsey Holt (Logan) of Olive Branch, MS, and Lauren Smith (Collier) of Greer, SC; and eleven great-grandchildren, Grant, Emma, and Carson Weise, Sophia and Jack Davis, Ty, Ashton, Sydney, and Brynnan Holt, and Theron and Davis Smith. Mary was a longtime member of Weaver First United Methodist Church, where she served in a number of capacities. As a member of the Ruth Bible class, she often served members by providing meals and visiting those in need. As a dedicated homemaker, Mary's delicious, homemade meals were enjoyed by family and friends alike. Ballgames were always on her agenda whether in person or on the TV. As her boys were growing up, she faithfully attended all their ball games and her attendance never wavered as she faithfully enjoyed the games of her Alabama granddaughters. She and Jackie were their best cheerleaders. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren well. She was thrilled to be with them at every opportunity. Camping and wintering in Florida at Winter Quarters was a favorite during their retirement years. She was forever making sure flowers were sent to all friends and neighbors during times of bereavement. She gave unselfishly to every family member and every friend. She will forever be an excellent example of loving others and serving God. Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Gray Brown-Service Chapel with Chaplain David Jones officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 – 8 pm and Thursday morning from 10 – 11 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Davis always had a warm smile on her face. She was quiet in nature but her personality radiated love for her church and it's congregation. She was a fine Southern lady. She really did make you feel good anytime you were around her which had to be her love of God shining through her. RIP Mrs. Davis.
